The event localized in Cardile, the geographical center of the Cilento National Park, it is proposed with the territory Cilento which stage of music related to the dance of the tarantula, due to the phenomenon of tarantism which in the past also struck the Cilento districts as proven by some scientific researches of 'University of Salerno.
The event "Taranta Med" will aim to organize a popular music festival with performances by musical groups that come from the Mediterranean, creating the conditions for the emergence of institutional twinning, in order to also generate exchanges on traditions, culture, craft, gastronomy and between the countries involved.
The idea of ​​promoting this historic event came also from a need to identify the ancient Lucania region in particular, but the South in general, an area rich in culture, tastes and traditions with exchanges and twinning between municipalities, associations and pro-site, where the South is placed at the center of the Mediterranean.
