The shrine of Our Lady of Loreto is a destination for many pilgrims. According to legend, the virgin mary was stubbornly tied to that site, so as to appear on several occasions to two shepherd children on the trunk of an oak. On august 23, the sanctuary from the traditional procession lit by hundreds of candles and enhanced by features such as votive belts reminiscent of the ancient greek worship in honor of the goddess hera.
