Carnival Capaccio Paestum 2018
PAESTUM - From February 4 to 18 Go to Village

Allegorical floats, masked ballets, animation and games, sporting events and lots of fun. These are the ingredients of the 45th edition of the "Gran Festa di Carnevale" of Capaccio Paestum which will take place between the 4th and 18th February.

The many carnival events are organized by the association "Friends of the Carnival of Capaccio Paestum" and will enjoy the patronage of the municipal administration of Capaccio Paestum. The events scheduled in Capaccio, on the other hand, are organized under the direction of the Adc Ca'pacciàmm association.

The rich program of events will open Sunday, February 4, at Gromola, at 15.30 with the delivery of the classic Capaccio Paestum Carnival trophy from the winner of the previous edition (Gromola) to the organizing committee, which will keep it until the award ceremony new winner car. During the afternoon, the themes of the allegorical wagons of the 2018 edition will be presented. The districts of Gromola, Vuccolo Maiorano, Santa Venere, Torre / Licinella and Borgo Nuovo / Cafasso will take part in the 45th edition of the Carnival. On the other hand, the Fonte district will be hosted by the nearby municipality of Roccadaspide.

It continues Saturday, February 10 with the first parade of allegorical floats along Via Magna Grecia at 18.30. During the fashion show there will also be the exhibition of the new group of the majiorettes of Capaccio Paestum.

Sunday 11 February at 15.00, instead, to host the "Great Carnival Party" will be Paestum with the parade of allegorical floats, the exhibition of majorettes and dance choreography by the participating districts.

As every year, the Memorial "Sica" returns, reserved for primary and secondary schools in the municipality of Capaccio Paestum, and organized in collaboration with the various associations of the territory. The awards ceremony will be held on Monday 12 February at 4.00 pm in the Olimpia gym, in Capaccio Scalo, where children's games will also take place.

The Carnival newspaper, Tuesday 13 February, is the venue for the classic parade through the streets of Capaccio Scalo. The districts will parade, starting at 15.00, along Piazza Santini, via Italia 61, via Magna Grecia and Viale della Repubblica. After marching, the wagons will return to Piazza Santini, where the award ceremony will take place. In Capaccio, on the other hand, the association "Adc-Ca'paccìamm" proposes for Fat Tuesday "Simply Carnival: Once upon a time there were ... fairy tales". At 14.30 parade of allegorical floats through the streets of the capital by the "Giovani Capaccesi" group. At 15.30, at Piazza Tempone, entertainment for families organized by the "Gulp Eventi" association with team games for adults and children. At 4.30 pm space for the show-parody "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" by the association "Adc-Ca'capaccìamm". The program will end with the show "O 'nonno n'zallanuto" at 5.00 pm organized by the "Gulp Eventi" association and to follow, at 18.00, with the performance after 34 years of the show "La Canzone di Zeza".

The following Sunday, February 18th, the Carnival in Capaccio will be closed with performances and ballets.
